Lab Week Two
Focus Questions:
The three questions I have chosen to focus on from this week's lab were; What did you learn this week? Are you able to relate what you learned to what you already knew? and What are new or remaining questions?
1. What did you learn this week?
This week during lab we learned more about the characteristics of living things. I knew of some characteristics before but I didn't realize there was so much to it. I suppose I just didn't put too much thought into it.
2. Are you able to relate what you learned to what you already knew?
During the lab this week, we talked about germination and I already knew the basics of germination such as sunlight, water, and warmth. I didn't realize the seed needs to be a good one, and the soil needs to be full of nutrients.
3. What are new or remaining questions?
One question I have from this week would be what age is a good age to start teaching students about germination? and photosynthesis?
Hi Kallea! I also knew the idea of germination, but didn't know certain things were a big part of it, as well. I also wonder about the right age of elementary students to be teaching what we learned this week to. Your post looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Kallea!
ReplyDeleteI really appreciated how you highlighted the duality of what you knew and had learned this week. Your efforts really highlight how we as teachers can not only build off of our own prior knowledge but further build our student's prior knowledge as well. Finally, I think the inclusion of your poster was a great way to visualize your thinking patterns. Overall, great job :)
